The ANGUS†Chemical Company's Operations site in Sterlington, Louisiana, is safe and running at normal operating rates with AMP™ dispersant production rates continuing to hit record levels, according to Mark Henning, president and CEO of ANGUS.
"ANGUS is business as usual," Henning said. "Our employees did an excellent job preparing for the weather systems and the ANGUS Sterlington site was not damaged in the wake of Hurricane Katrina or Hurricane Rita. Customers can be assured that our recently increased capacity for AMP-95 is continuing to produce higher than expected yields."
ANGUS recently announced the completion of a multi-million dollar investment project at the Sterlington site. The company added additional volume for several products, including 2-NP and AMP dispersant. ANGUS reached record production rates during the summer months relative to the increases. The product 2-NP is a critical component needed to produce AMP; a dispersant used in numerous applications in the paints and coatings, metalworking fluids, household and personal care, and water treatment markets.
Aligned as a market-focused, solutions-driven specialty chemicals business, ANGUS is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Company. ANGUS develops and delivers nitroalkane-based solutions to our customers for applications in latex paints, mineral slurries, metalworking fluids, water treatment, biological buffers, solvents and thinners, wood adhesives, pharmaceutical & agricultural intermediates, SBR latex shortstops, fuel additives and personal care and household products.
