Kalil Named to Office of the Chief Executive

Midland, MI - November 01, 2005

Charles J. Kalil, corporate vice president, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, will join Dow's Office of the Chief Executive (OCE), effective November 1, 2005.

"Since he was named General Counsel a year ago, Chuck has brought to the OCE a breadth and depth of litigation and other legal experience gained in various parts of the world, as well as with mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other affiliated companies," said Andrew Liveris, president and chief executive officer. "His appointment to the OCE is further recognition of his strong leadership capabilities which will help our team accomplish our company's vision of becoming the largest, most profitable and most respected chemical company in the world."

In his 25-year career with Dow, Kalil has held a variety of legal leadership positions in Europe, Latin America, and North America. He was named corporate vice president and General Counsel in November 2004 and added responsibility for the Office of the Corporate Secretary in July 2005.
