The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE: DOW) today released its 2008 definitive Proxy Statement to stockholders of record at close of business on March 17, 2008, providing notice that the Annual Meeting of Stockholders will be held at 10 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time on Thursday, May 15, 2008, at the Midland Center for the Arts in Midland, Michigan, USA.

The Proxy Statement was distributed with Dow's 2007 Form 10-K and Stockholder Summary (with selected exhibits), a letter to stockholders from Andrew Liveris, Dow chairman and CEO, and a copy of the Company's 2007 Corporate Report. Stockholders will vote on six agenda items: the election of 12 Directors, the ratification of Dow's independent auditors for 2008, and four stockholder proposals. Information concerning the proposals and the Board of Directors’ recommendations in relation to the proposals is contained in the Proxy Statement. Stockholders may vote on the Internet, by phone, or by mail.
