Two Dow employees recently received prestigious external accolades exemplifying Dow's commitment to a diverse and inclusive work culture.
Pedro Suarez, president for Dow Latin America, has been named as the 2009 Engineer of the Year by the Hispanic Engineer National Achievement Award Corporation (HENAAC). John Rodriguez, senior production leader - LDPE, has been recognized with the Professional Achievement Award - Corporate. The engineer of the year award is HENAAC's highest level award and Suarez is the first-ever Dow employee to receive this honor. The recipients, who are judged by a selection committee comprised of professionals from industry, academia and government, will be honored at the HENAAC's annual conference in October 2009 in Long Beach, Calif.
For 21 years HENAAC has been honoring the nation's best and brightest engineers, scientists, and technology experts of Hispanic background.
