Representatives of Dow Chemical Canada Inc. and the Dow Foundation will make a public announcement of the winning project submission to receive its $1-million Dow Sarnia Legacy Project gift to the Sarnia community at a news media briefing on:

The six legacy project finalists announced in September, 2007 include: Big Brothers of Sarnia-Lambton/Big Sisters of Sarnia-Lambton, Rebound Sarnia-Lambton/St. Luke’s United Church, Child and Youth Development Centre; Goodwill Industries - Essex Kent Lambton, Goodwill/Community Centre; Pathways Health Centre for Children, Community Therapeutic Acquatic Centre; City of Sarnia, Centennial Park Expansion/Improvements; St. Joseph’s Health Care Society, St. Joseph’s Paliative Care Residential Hospice; and the United Way of Sarnia-Lambton, Investment Fund.
The Dow Sarnia Legacy Project is Dow’s gift to the community to recognize its more than 65 years of local operations. Dow came to Sarnia in 1942 in response to an invitation from the Canadian government to help manufacture synthetic rubber for the war effort. The Sarnia Site was the company’s first manufacturing location outside of the United States.
