Dow To Remove Temporary Voluntary Allowance on IPA and MIBK October 15

Midland, MI - October 07, 2005

The Dow Chemical Company today announced that it will remove the temporary voluntary allowance (TVA) of $0.03/lb on Isopropanol and $0.04/lb Methyl Isobutyl Ketone, effective October 15, 2005.

"Raw materials have increased faster and more significantly than we anticipated," said Pat Gottschalk, global business director, Solvents & Intermediates. "When we implemented our September price increase, we announced a TVA in hopes that raw material prices would moderate. Unfortunately, raw material prices have continued to rise, so we are removing the TVA."
