Dow Announces Further Price Increases for TDI in Europe, Middle East/Africa and Indian Subcontinent

Horgen, Switzerland - October 12, 2005

Effective 1 November 2005, or as contract terms allow, the Polyurethanes business of Dow Europe GmbH will further increase prices in Europe for Toluene Diisocyanate (TDI) by 200 Euro/MT. This price increase is in addition to the previously announced November TDI increase, thereby bringing the total price increase to 400 Euro/MT for TDI, effective November 1, 2005.

"We continue to be faced with persistently high and volatile energy and raw material costs, including crude oil and natural gas, which are significantly impacting our cost of production. Furthermore we need to restore our margins which have been at a historical low over a long period", says Herman Motmans, Product Manager Europe, MEAI.

Similar price increases are being implemented in the Middle East, Africa and the Indian Subcontinent.

Customers interested in learning more about the price increase should contact their local Dow sales representative.
