Dow Announces November 1, 2005 Price Increases for Chlorinated Organic Products in North and Latin America

Midland, MI - October 14, 2005

Effective November 1, 2005, or as contracts allow, The Dow Chemical Company ("Dow") is announcing a $0.04 per pound increase in list and off-list prices for all grades of Dow Chlorinated Organics in North America (US, Canada, and Mexico) and Latin America. This increase applies to all bulk and packaged Chlorinated Organics product grades of Carbon Tetrachloride, Chloroform, Methylene Chloride, Trichloroethylene and Perchloroethylene, including DOWPER* solvent.

This price increase is in addition to the previous price announcement effective October 1, 2005.

Dow said these increases are driven by the recent acceleration of raw material, utility, and transportation costs.
