The Dow Chemical Company announced today that its Polyglycols and Surfactants business will increase the North American list and off-list prices of select TERGITOL™, DOWFAX™, and TRITON™ Surfactants, effective March 1, 2008, or as contracts allow. Price increases will range from $.03/lb to $.08/lb, depending on the product and the grade. These increases are driven by strong demand and persistently high raw material costs.

Background

Specialty surfactants offer a broad range of performance attributes and are niche oriented. They are
typically used when customers require excellent performance and specific characteristics for their formulations. A customer will often work with a surfactants producer to develop a specific chemistry for end-use applications.
