Midland, MI - March 04, 2009
The Dow Chemical Company announced today that it received the inaugural Best New Technology Award from PCHi (Personal Care and Homecare Ingredients), for its introduction of the SatinFX™ Delivery System. The award was presented as part of the New Technology Feature Area at PCHi, a leading trade event for the personal care and household markets, which took place February 24-26, 2009 in Guangzhou, China.
Launched in April 2008, the SatinFX™ Delivery System is an example of Dow’s strategy to bring new technologies to the personal care industry in support of market needs meant to fulfill the increasingly sophisticated demands of the consumer. The system helps to address formulators’ needs to improve the stability and delivery of active ingredients, in response to consumer demand for more effective, multifunctional skin care products. In addition to enhanced stability, the SatinFX™ Delivery System also enables the encapsulation of “incompatible” ingredients to provide multiple performance benefits. For example, it can be used to encapsulate dihydroxyacetone (DHA) and amino acids to create sunless tanning products that also provide anti-aging benefits.
"It is an honor to be recognized by such a well-regarded organization as PCHi for our introduction of the SatinFX™ Delivery System,” said Clara Goh, personal care marketing manager for Dow in Asia Pacific. “This novel, versatile new technology has already shown several benefits for skin care applications, and we look forward to exploring new opportunities with our customers to help deliver functional and sensory benefits to meet consumers’ increasingly sophisticated preferences and needs."
