The Dow Chemical Company today announced that it will raise list and off-list prices on a number of products in its Specialty Chemicals Polyglycols & Surfactants portfolio in North America on October 16, 2005 as contracts allow. Products include TERGITOL™, TRITON™, CARBOWAX™, and other Polyglycols.
Dow will also implement a Temporary Voluntary Allowance (TVA) effective October 16, 2005 on some of these products as noted. This TVA is subject to removal at any time due to changes in market conditions.
"While we continue to implement cost reduction and productivity improvement programs, these alone are not enough to mitigate the current economic environment, said Keith Wiggins, Global Marketing Director, Specialty Chemicals. "Continued rising energy and raw material costs dictate that we take immediate action to continue meeting product supply requirements in the long term".
